THE KIND YOU CAN’T FIX
THE KIND YOU CAN’T FIX
A one-act play by Chris Harth & Sami Habib
The play is called "THE KIND YOU CAN'T FIX". Think if Brokeback Mountain was about a divorced couple and also set at the end of the world. The working synopsis, however, is: "Set after the fall of the U.S. government, two exiled divorced cowboys wander through what is left of the American South and come upon a mysterious woman who has somehow been surviving, wordlessly and without the constant fear of violence the men have been conditioned to. Her very existence challenges the foundation of their crumbling relationship and the politics of their survival."

On August 30th at 9:30pm, join Emily Marie Alvarado for her debut solo show, a birthday blowout cabaret that dives deep into the last 30 years of life, love, music, and mildly regrettable choices. With guest appearances from the people who’ve been part of her journey, this show is less “concert” and more “emotional rollercoaster with a key change”. Bring tissues, bring your mom, bring your ex (or don’t)—it’s going to be a night to remember.

UNPACKING: A SONG CYCLE - Album Release
UNPACKING: A SONG CYCLE - Album Release
Music: Rachel Dean
Lyrics: David Brush
Writers know that many, many songs get cut, chopped and shelved in the service of story. (That's why we say we so often have to "kill our darlings"). And then there are many others that live outside larger stories entirely. And yet others from projects that died before they really began. And then there are those that come from deeper places in our experiences. These songs too often collect dust in suitcases and never see the light of day. As humans we also know that the years since 2020 have resulted in a lot of soul-searching and rooting through the shrapnel of the last three years. So we decided to combine these songs into one inclusive new album. We are thrilled to announce that we are gonna open our suitcases little by little, song by song for our first album compilation - UNPACKING - exploring the beautiful and the dark - the comic and the tragic - the whole range of who we were and who we now are.
